Obituary Frank Whitehouse
Life President of Rawmarsh St Joseph’s JFC
It is with deep sadness that Rawmarsh St Joseph’s JFC announces the passing of our honorary and life president, Frank Whitehouse. Frank was not only founder, he was the beating heart of our club for more than fifty years.
Over half a century ago, Frank helped create Rawmarsh St Joseph’s JFC from nothing more than a dream and a patch of land generously acquired from the local church. With determination, passion, and an unwavering belief in young people, he oversaw the building of the club’s very first clubhouse and laid the foundations—quite literally—for everything St Joseph’s has become.
His devotion to the club, to Sheffield FA, and to grassroots football shaped the lives of thousands of children and families over the decades. Frank had time for everyone. Whether you played for him, coached alongside him, or simply crossed paths at the side of the pitch, you left feeling seen, valued, and encouraged. His kindness and compassion were legendary, and his presence lit up every training session and match day.
Today, Rawmarsh St Joseph’s JFC continues to thrive because of the work of Frank and the small group of dedicated people who began this remarkable journey in the 1970s. We owe them—and especially Frank—a debt of gratitude we can never fully repay.
Our thoughts, love, and deepest condolences go out to all of Frank’s family and friends at this difficult time.
Frank’s legacy lives on in every child who kicks a ball on our pitches, every volunteer who gives their time, and every team that proudly wears the green and white. His impact will be felt for generations.
R.I.P. Frank
A legend of Rawmarsh. A champion of grassroots football.
Forever part of the Green and White Army.

Thank you so much for those lovely words about my Uncle Frank. He lived and breathed the team and was so passionate about it. I’m so proud of the legacy he has left and all the young people who have benefited from his life’s work.
